Recently Mr. Kornmayer gave to me the possibility to scans all the Georg Luger to Paul Mauser letters he photocopied with Mr. Görtz (see: Finding of the letters). Most of the letters are related to the tentative of selling Mauser rifles to the Italians and Rumanians. The Italian contract with Mannlicher was quite advanced and the Rumanians were mainly basis their decision on the Italian decision. Georg Luger, that was fluent in Italian language, was in Rome to discuss with the Italian Army Staff. Mr. Tempini (see: Translation into English of the letter dated 2^nd February 1892) was the Italian point of contact of Paul Mauser. Mr. Tempini was well introduced in the Italian Ministerium of Defense and he arranged a meeting between Georg Luger and the Italian Minister of the Defense and others high rank Officers.
