This is a rare Matt-Hartverchromt Mauser
Parabellum. Mauser made only a few of these pistols in the beginning of the
production. This model is interesting for three aspects: 1. The finishing, it is Matt-Hartverchromt with
Ivory Grips and gold plated small parts; 2. It is a transitional model. Although the
pistol is dated 1972, it has the frame and the barrel of the 06/73 model but
the trigger, the safety lever, the side plate and the breech block are from
the 29/70 model. 3. Internally the pistol has the last three digits
of the serial number roughly etched not only on the rear toggle but also on
the Side Plate, Breech Block and Safety Lever (see serial numbering for more
information) 4. Author’s collection. Pictures and results of the author’s researches presented
